Hopefully, Jennifer Hudson will spin her chair for you if you audition for Season 13 of The Voice.
The actress and singer rose to fame in 2004 as a finalist on American Idol. Acting as a judge on The Voice feels like everything is coming full circle. I still haven’t fully recovered from her shocking elimination from Idol 13 years ago, so this new position offers some closure for me.
In regards to this new addition to the panel, Paul Telegdy (NBC’s president of NBC’s alternative and reality group), said,
“Jennifer is an extraordinary vocal talent and one of the premier voices of our time. She embodies the experience, expertise, positivity and sheer talent that The Voice stands for. Her exceptional skills as a singer and actress have extended to film, television, and Broadway, which makes her an incredible addition and a natural fit for our show.”
Agreed all around!
Miley Cyrus also re-joins the judging panel next season. Cyrus announced she will be releasing a new album later this year, with a new single “Malibu” dropping today.
The Voice veterans Adam Levine and Blake Shelton also return to the panel. So we will have to say goodbye to Gwen Stefani and Alicia Keys.
