John Legend does not hold his punches! The politically active artist recently commented on Donald Trump’s first 100 days in office and needless to say, he did not have nice things to say.
While attending the TIME 100 Gala as an honoree, Legend addressed the elephant in the room: Trump (he was named TIME’s Person of the Year last year). Legend said,
“I think he’s a terrible president. Manifestly unqualified, not curious, not good at legislating or anything that his job requires, doesn’t have any depth about any subject. He’s also using the office of the presidency as a way to make money for himself with his businesses so he’s corrupt. I can’t say anything nice about the guy, I think he’s one of the worst people I’ve ever encountered in public life.”
And we can’t say we disagree with him! As for the one positive Legend could think of?
“We haven’t gotten into a nuclear war yet.”
Don’t jinx us, John!
John Legend is one of the few celebs who has taken their activism off of Twitter and into the real world. He’s currently working on the “7 Inches for Planned Parenthood” album to benefit the organization. He’s also used his platform to speak out against the Muslim ban.
