Why Does Everyone Want Female Candidates to Bow Out And Become Joe Biden's VP?

First, Stacey Abrams and now Kamala Harris. What’s the deal?

This is now the second time that the media has suggested that female politicians would make a great Vice President to Joe Biden.

Most recently, a reporter from The Daily Mail asked Sen. Kamala Harris how she would feel about being Biden’s running mate. Luckily, Harris had *the best* answer.

She said,

“If people want to speculate about running mates, I encourage that, because I think that Joe Biden would be a great running mate. As vice-president, he’s proven that he knows how to do the job.”

HAH! I love it.

Prior to this incident, Stacey Abrams was actually asked the same exact question and luckily, she wasn’t falling for it either. She said,

“You don’t run for second place. If I’m going to enter a primary, then I’m going to enter a primary.”

The whole thing is just incredibly insulting on so many leveling. First of all, nobody ever asks the male candidates if they would consider conceding the race to run alongside Biden, so why should they expect the women to do so?

And yes, Biden is *technically* first in the polls but (1) it’s way too soon in the race to know anything yet and (2) we all know how wrong the polls can be.

Harris, Warren, and Gillibrand should all keep trucking along because they are each running amazing campaigns. And should one of them win the bid? Then they sure as hell wouldn’t pick Biden to be their running mate. There are so many better options out there besides an old man who can’t even apologize to Anita Hill after all these years.
