8/21/17: So now we kinda-sorta know why Kendall Jenner never said anything in response to the Pepsi ad: she was a wimp.
In the recent cover story for The Hollywood Reporter, her sister Kim Kardashian said the following:
“We’re not perfect, but you see these things in the media, like Kendall and [her Pepsi ad that was accused of trivializing Black Lives Matter], where I see her at home crying, but in the media she looks another way because she’s not addressing it. I’m just like, ‘This is wrong. You need to speak up.’ She was like, ‘I don’t ever want to show that footage of me crying.’ She was trying to not make excuses or be dramatic, but that was what she was going through at the time.”
Wow, what an absolutely terrible excuse. So Kendall was embarrassed by the ad and too scared to speak up? That’s not a good enough reason not to own up to your actions. And even worse, the excuse is still not coming from Kendall Jenner herself. She has still yet to say anything and continues to use her family as a shield. Our comments below still stand.
4/10/17: Although #PepsiFail has finally stopped trending on Twitter, there is still one party who has yet to speak up on the incident: model Kendall Jenner. Which begs the question, what the heck?
An unnamed source told People (note: often times these “sources” are planted by the celebrity themselves),
“She has been very upset. She feels terrible. She loves being a model. To get a Pepsi gig was a big deal. She was very excited. She never expected it to receive such backlash. She hopes people understand that she wasn’t involved in the creative process.”
She’s reportedly gone back home since the ad aired to lay low with her family.
But why hasn’t Jenner said anything herself?
In previous episodes of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Jenner expressed her fear for getting political and was even too scared to get involved with an anti-gun violence organization, which sis Kim Kardashian already vocally supported.
And if Jenner truly wants to be a role model for young girls, which she has said she would like to be, she needs to speak up one way or the other. And more importantly, she needs to practice what she preaches. She can’t go out and tell girls to vote and be politically active and then not take that advice herself. It’s hypocritical.
The truth is, it’s time for Kendall Jenner to get woke. She’s not a child anymore and if she wants to be the center of attention then she needs to step up.
So, what do you have to say for yourself, Kendall?
