Tell us something we don’t know!
Tell us something we don’t know! Lauren Graham is talking all things Gilmore Girls these days and she just so happened to mention that the show is actually secretly feminist. Hmm, we’re not so sure it was such a secret, Lauren! But we do love whenever our gal talks feminism. Here’s what she had to say on the matter:
“The show is sneakily feminist in that it’s always been great for them to have love, but they’re also okay when they don’t. That self-sufficiency is the first strength and that allows them to have these relationships. It’s why we sometimes bristle at: What team are you on?! It’s like: It doesn’t matter. Rory’s going to be great no matter what. And I think that’s an underlying message of the show, too.”
Amen! I mean, yes, we may be Team Jess all the way, but in the end we’re really Team Rory and Team Lorelai.
