Forget Arya Stark — Maisie Williams is a total badass!
The star of Game of Thrones is spending her time these days advocating on behalf of dolphins and we love it.
Maisie is the global ambassador for the Dolphin project and is currently on her second trip to Japan on behalf of the cause. She’s been sharing her trip with her Instagram and Twitter followers, as well as spreading the word through the media.
According to The Washington Post, she said,
“It was something that just struck a chord in my heart. And I’m a firm believer that, if there is something that you really want to stand up and fight for, then you should. And with everyone doing their own little bit for what they believe in, hopefully together we can make the world a better place.”
Maisie’s activism has been particularly focused on the dolphin killings in Taiji, Japan, but she wants to be clear that she’s not personally attacking anyone.
“It’s not an attack on Japan at all, or on Taiji, or the people of Taiji. I want to say, honestly, hand on heart, that this is not an attack on anyone in specific.”
Maisie’s work is completely inspiring and we can’t wait to see what her passion and advocacy will accomplish.
