If Michelle Obama is still optimistic, then we guess all hope is not lost. The former First Lady just wrote an unbelievably sweet letter to actress Lily Collins where she expresses her hope and gratitude.
Collins had previously sent a copy of her new book Unfiltered to Obama and received a personal note in return. Obama wrote,
“Dear Lily: I am writing to thank you for the copy of your new book. The gift was such a nice gesture and I look forward to sharing it with my daughters
The outpouring of support I have received from women across the country continues to amaze me, and I am filled with a great sense of hope for our shared future,” Obama, 53, continued. “I heard this quote recently and it reminded me of your book so I wanted to share it with you.
‘Here’s to strong women, may we know them, may we be them, may we raise them.’
Again, thank you for your kindness, Lily. I wish you all the best.
Warmly, Michelle Obama”

Lily was understandably psyched and shared the letter via Instagram. She said she was in complete shock when she got it and plans to frame it. We would too! We particularly like the Wonder Woman stamp she chose. Perfection!
Collins’ new book gives her fans an inside look at her life and she touches on the struggling relationship with her famous dad Phil Collins, whom she ultimately decides to forgive.
We wish Michelle Obama would write us a letter! So jelly right now.
