We love cool brands doing cool things! Fashion company Monki just announced a new collaboration with Lunette that is particularly exciting and important.
If you’re not familiar with Monki, that may be because the brand is sold primarily in Europe and Asia. Select styles are available in the US via ASOS and H&M.
The company describes their brand as “combining Nordic-cool style with Japanese-inspired design, Monki stands for empowerment and inclusivity.”
Their newest stride towards empowerment and inclusivity comes through their collaboration with Finish company Lunette. Lunette is a female-run company that developed the menstrual cup, that Monki will sell in stores and online starting this summer. Through selling the product together, the companies hope to open up conversations and end the period stigma. In fact, the collab’s motto is “Periods are cool. Period.”
Additionally, the partners will donate 5,000 cups to The Cup Foundation. The Cup Foundation aims to assist women in Kenya by educating them about female health, and providing them with access to hygiene products like the menstrual cup.
Camilla Wirseen, CEO of The Cup Foundation, says,
“It is the right of all women to be able to handle their periods in a safe and hygienic way. Together with Monki and Lunette, The Cup Foundation will be able to make a real difference and help even more girls living in poverty to stay in school.”
It’s safe to say that Monki x Lunette x The Cup Foundation is our new favorite collab.
