This Is Us Season 2 is so close yet so far away.
The second season of NBC’s stunningly successful drama returns to the network on September 26th. We definitely think it will be worth the wait.
Although most of the information regarding plot are kept under wraps, we do know a few tidbits about the highly anticipated second season. The creators and cast have dropped some hints here and there, and they just shared new info at the Television Critics Association press tour. Here’s what we know about This Is Us Season 2.
The Season 2 storyline picks up about a month after the Season 1 finale.
In terms of the present day story, the season will pick up on the triplets 37th birthday. In the flashback sequences, it picks up the day after Rebecca and Jack’s fight.
Sylvester Stallone will guest star.
I don’t really picture Stallone as the soft, dramatic type, but I trust the show’s casting decision. He will play Kevin’s costar in the film he is working on.
We will see the Big Three in a new decade.
We’ve seen the Pearson kids in a a couple stages of life, and get ready to see them in a new one. On the red carpet at the Emmys, actress Regina King, who directs an episode, revealed:
“One thing I can tell you without getting in trouble with NBC is that in my episode, you get to meet the Big Three in a decade that you’ve never seen them in before.”
But which decade?!? We’ll have to wait and see!
Randall will still grieve William’s death.
The relationship between Randall and William was a major focus of season 1, with the impacts of William’s passing still in full swing. In an interview with EW, the show’s creator Dan Fogelman stated that William’s impact will play a major role in season 2.
We find out how Jack dies.
Oh boy. We so badly want to know, but can never really prepare ourselves. But possibly the biggest burning question of the series will be answered. At the TCA press tour Thursday, executive producer Dan Fogelman stated, “the first episode has a big, giant piece of the puzzle that will essentially set the Internet abuzz.”
Is it September 26th yet?
