‘RHONY’ Bethenny Frankel Has Become the Hero Puerto Rico Needs

Who knew that a Real Housewife would become the hero after Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico?

Not trying to throw shade here — we have nothing but respect for Bethenny Frankel, who not only raised $15 million in donations and charted 10 planes, but actually took time out of her life to get in the trenches in PR.

She’s certainly the unexpected savior of the day. The obvious choice to come to the rescue would be, oh, I don’t know, the President? But he was clearly too busy tweeting about the NFL so somebody had to step up!

During Bethenny’s trip to Puerto Rico, she had a chance to meet with victims face-to-face. She told Us Weekly,

“People are starving, actually starving. They have no water. People are suffering. It’s not sensationalized. It’s not OK. It’s a war zone. It’s like Slumdog Millionaire. It’s beyond poverty.”

She added,

“I’ve seen people living in mud. Their car is encrusted with mud. They have no water to clean their house. They’re washing their baby clothes in their street water. They’re staying on the roof waiting for help.”

While there, Bethenny was able to hand out supplies like baby food, diapers, medical supplies, insulin, and more. After returning, she took to her social media accounts to share pictures of the devastation and urge folks to donate to her B Strong initiative.
