'Real Housewives' Luann de Lesseps Clears Up All Those Rumors About Her Sobriety

Earlier this summer Real Housewives of New York star Luann de Lesseps checked herself into rehab for the second time after relapsing. And ever since, her co-stars have been starting rumor after rumor about her.

While in rehab in July, Luann missed the taping of the RHONY reunion and, naturally, the other ladies used the opportunity to talk about her.

Dorinda, supposedly Luann’s “good friend”, claimed that Luann was basically “court ordered to go back to rehab.” Um, not true.

Luann told Andy Cohen,

“I was not court ordered to go to rehab. I went on my own recognizance, first of all, so Dorinda doesn’t know anything about me.”

She added,

“I went because I felt that I needed to go and take care of myself. I take it very seriously, my sobriety, and it’s 51 days today, by the way.”

And then there was Ramona, who claimed Luann got drunk all summer and kicked out of parties. Also completely untrue.

“Look at me, Ramona, with those eyes. I was never at the Beacon this summer, so that is a total lie. And at Chris Burch’s party, I was not kicked out, Ramona, so you gotta stop making stuff up to make yourself look better, Ramona, it’s not gonna happen.”

Luann first went to rehab in December after getting arrested for public intoxication and resisting arrest.

She was doing extremely well with her sobriety until she started fighting with her family. Her ex-husband and her two children filed a lawsuit against the countess when Luann attempted to sell her Hamptons home and purchase a new one.

After returning from rehab the second time, Luann appeared on Megyn Kelly and told her,

“I can’t be like most normal people and have a glass or two of wine. I’ll drink the whole bottle and then I’m looking where can I get another bottle? It just doesn’t work for me. I’m just not wired that way.”

I only wish Luann the best and hope she surrounds herself with friends and family who can support her journey to sobriety.
