Riverdale is back in less than a week and fans everywhere are pumped.
And just when you thought the show couldn’t get darker and more dramatic, it does.
We know a few bits here and there of what to expect in terms of plot and character development. And now Ashleigh Murray, who plays Josie, is speaking up to explain some of the developments we will see in her character.
Speaking with Teen Vogue, Ashleigh described how Josie’s character will get sucked into the Riverdale drama (that she has mostly avoided in season 1). Murray explained,
“Josie definitely does get pulled into the drama that’s happening in Riverdale. It starts to affect the relationship with her mom. We will be able to see more interactions between Josie and Mayor McCoy. It’s a little bit of friction, but we’re still on the same team. I imagine that’s going to change the further into the season we get.”
Ashleigh also explains that we will see more details about Josie’s personal life. She states,
“We’re going to see a lot more of her friendship between herself and Cheryl. We will see a bit of a breakdown in between Josie and the Pussycats. We’re also gonna see her start to test the waters with her career, possibly going solo. Things might be shaken up with her in her personal life, as well.”
Eeek! So much drama to look forward to getting wrapped up in. In terms of the blossoming relationship with Cheryl (pun definitely intended), Murray says,
“You’re going see some interesting things. I can’t really tell too much, but you’ll definitely be able to see how they get along, the different jokes they have with each other, and just the beauty behind the friendship that we didn’t get to see in season one. That’s all I’m going to say for now.”
Ashleigh also states that she’s just excited for fans to see how all of the “mischief” unfolds between the characters and plot in season 2. We are excited as well and are honestly glad most details are being kept under wraps.
