RuPaul’s Drag Race season 10 has sadly come to a close and Eureka O’Hara has walked away crown-less.
If you watched this season, you know that Eureka was a controversial queen, to say the least. You either loved her or hated her.
The drag queen was originally a contestant on season 9, but when she blew out her knee, Ru extended the invitation for her to return this season. And damn if she didn’t come in stronger than ever!
Eureka went full-force in everything she did, whether it was her snatch game or her epic runway looks.
But that didn’t stop the haters from hating, of course. She told EW,
“We have a fandom that has chosen to be very nitpicky to me and my character this season, and they’ve tried to invalidate the fact that I made it as far as I did. They think I didn’t deserve it.”
Eureka added,
“They also had certain opinions about who I am as a person and how I view life that are very incorrect. It’s spread with a lot of hatred and negativity online.”

Full disclosure: I was not #TeamEureka when the show started. But throughout the season, I realized what a good-natured queen she is, how hilarious is, and more importantly, what an awesome role model she had the potential to be.
Eureka was full of body love and absolutely did fat babes proud.
“I gave people of size hope. And I gave myself hope. All I wanted to prove in the finale is that I deserved to be there, and I did that… I proved that I deserved to be there.”
Since the finale aired (Eureka came in second), her fans have only rallied around her more, especially those who feel she was robbed of the crown.
“People are rooting for me now more than ever. They feel like I was robbed, and that’s who you want to be: The robbed queen! That just makes people support you more. It’s strange how it works, isn’t it?”
Eureka deserves to feel proud of her journey in every way. She may not be Miss Congeniality (sorry, babe, that title went to Monet X Change), but she’s deserving of love and has more than proven her talent this season.
Because between all craziness and the half-naked pit crew, what’s truly at the core of RuPaul’s Drag Race is pure artistry. And damn if Eureka isn’t an artist through and through.
