Demi Lovato is the latest big name to sign with music manager Scooter Braun, joining fellow pop stars Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande.
But before Scooter signed Demi, he approached Ariana to make sure she was cool with it, since it meant splitting his time between the two high-powered female musicians. Apparently, Ariana was not only okay with it, but insisted on it. Scooter recalled,
“Demi and Ariana went for coffee, and Ariana called me and said, ‘You have to do this. I want her with us. She’s in our family. She’ll be protected, she’s my friend. I want her with us. I want you to help her.'”
Since then, Ariana has continued to be a huge supporter of Demi and was apparently very enthusiastic about Demi’s new music. Scooter explained,
“We did a listening party with Demi of some of the songs with Ariana. Ariana was giving notes and saying how excited she is. It’s really, really nice when everyone’s encouraging each other.”
Demi officially signed with Scooter back in May 2019 and the partnership seems like it couldn’t be going any better.
Earlier this year, Demi gushed about how supportive Scooter was, particularly when it came to her eating disorder recovery. She exclaimed how lucky she was to have “a manager that didn’t need anything from me and that loved me for who I am and supported my journey.”
Scooter is equally enamored with Demi, calling her “special” and her music “vulnerable and amazing.”
Of course, while Justin, Ariana, and Demi have all gushed about Scooter, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention that not everyone is so enthralled with the music manager.
It’s no secret that Taylor Swift is not a fan of Scooter and previously accused him of bullying her and manipulating his clients [Kanye West] to do the same. Despite Scooter receiving death threats from Swifties, Taylor has continued to stand her ground and continues to speak out about the injustices she’s suffered at the hands of Scooter.
