Tis’ the season to treat yo’ self!

Ok, so it’s actually the season for giving, but who says you can’t do both.

And let’s be real, this time of year can often be difficult, for a variety of reasons. So if you or someone you love could use some extra care this holiday season, we’ve got suggestions for useful items to keep close by.

Of course, self-care is a personal matter. It takes on different forms for everyone. Let us know what you would add to this list. Here are our suggestions:

Tea/Coffee

Taking time to sip a warm drink can help put me at peace in the most stressful of times. I always make sure to stock up on my favorite teas and coffees, that way I can enjoy them in the comfort of my home, and without always spending money at a coffee shop.

Facial Masks

Facial masks have become a staple of my weekend routine. They are a quick and inexpensive way to rejuvenate yourself externally, which may help refresh you internally as well.

Yoga Mat

Yoga and meditation are proven ways to help put your mind and body at ease. With apps like Insight Time to help with meditations and a plethora of free Yoga videos on YouTube, it can also be totally free. If you are really interested in making yoga and/or meditation a part of your routine, you may want to invest in a good yoga mat or meditation cushion.

Journal/Adult Coloring Book

If you are a hands-on type person, you might find enjoyment in keeping a journal or doodling in a coloring book. You can find coloring books for every character, theme, city, etc. You can also find a variety of blank journals, or ones with guiding questions.

Essential Oils

Essential oils are a natural and safe alternative to candles. Each scent has different benefits. Some aid with sleep and relaxation, and others can help relieve cold symptoms. Plus, you can purchase diffusers of various sizes, so if you have a small living space, it won’t take up too much room. If this sound like something for you, you can start looking online for a scent diffuser on sites like BluZen Wellness.

Bubble Bath

Not everyone is a fan of baths, but I find them incredibly soothing. Especially when I add bath salts or bubble bath. The scents are calming, and they have benefits for your skin. Especially during the cold winter months, a nice bath is really wonderful.
