Shannon Purser, more widely known as Barb from Stranger Things, took to Twitter to talk about sexuality.
In a series of vague but encouraging tweets, the actress wrote,
Getting comfortable with your sexuality is a process. It’s going to be ok. I wish I’d known that sooner.

Another thing I wish I’d known about sexuality is to take it slow. It can define you as much as you want it to.

Either way, I know what it’s like to have anxiety about it. Especially trying to come to terms with it and my faith. It can be really scary.

But it’s gonna be ok. You’re going to be ok. No, you’re going to be great.

Despite the mysteriousness of it, we are definitely behind the message she’s sharing.
Sexuality, and how it impacts you, is a personal choice. There should be no shame in taking it slow or fast, depends on what is most comfortable for you. And if she never wants to go public with her sexuality? That’s cool too.
Thanks for the little reminder, Barb!
Stranger Things season 2 hits Netflix on October 31st.
