Don’t have plans for tonight? Well, now you do. Some of your favorite celebs are teaming up for an ACLU benefit telethon, all streamed on Facebook live.
Called “Stand for Rights: A Benefit for the ACLU,” the event description explains,
“In these tumultuous times, we need our favorite actors, musicians, and comedians to do what they do best. Speak earnestly about politics? No! Entertain you for a great cause? Yes! Because when the Titanic sank, the band kept playing! Except, in this case, the band will be raising money for something that can fix the boat. And Leonardo DiCaprio won’t have to die.”
The event begins at 7 pm EST and will stream for around 4 hours.
Stars you can expect to see include Tina Fey, Tom Hanks, Alec Baldwin, Amy Poehler, Tracy Morgan, Ellie Kemper, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Tituss Burgess, Jane Krakowski, Jon Hamm, Ike Barinholtz and more. We are living for this.
The event is produced by Friend of a Friend Productions in collaboration with Funny or Die.
Of course, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that these celebs are taking actions. Many have voiced their political worries since Trump’s election, whether it’s on social media, ata rally, or on television.
