1. Robe Coats

Just as the name says, robe coats are long, fluffy coats with a tie-belt to help you stay bundled. Most robe coats come in cozy fabrics like faux fur or shearling and midi or maxi lengths.

Robe coats were spotted on the runways of brands like Coperni and Max Mara. Colors ranged from neutrals to pastels.

2. Oversized Shearling Aviators

This season, it’s all about comfort so lining our aviators with soft shearling is the perfect idea! Aviators have gotten bigger too, with many coats oversized and some even coming in maxi lengths! While most aviators are keeping the shearling in the lining and leather for the exterior, others are getting creative with shearling patterns stitched to the outer design of the coat as well (Stand Studio, Simon Miller).

3. Toggle Coats

Channel your inner Paddington because toggle coats are having a moments. Designers like Prada and Isabel Marant Etoile are bringing back toggle closures, mixing them with materials like faux fur, shearling, and wool.

4. Sleeping Bag Coats

A remix of the classic puffer coats, sleeping bag coats are even puffier and cozier! Just look to Norma Kamali’s aptly-named Sleeping Bag Coat for proof.

Duvet or sleeping bag coats often feature oversized, puffed collars to keep you warmer than ever this winter.

5. Scarf Coats

Last but certainly not least is the scarf coat. It all started a couple years ago with Toteme, who pretty much set the world on fire when they debuted their coat-scarf combo that features contrast-stitch embroidery. Now, there are hundreds of dupes pretty much everywhere, from Amazon to Mango to ASOS.

Toteme isn’t the only one to get in on the trend (although they certainly are the most famous). You can also see the same concept from designers like Isabel Marant Etoile and Ted Baker. Although, let’s be real — nothing can truly compare to the OG.
