Former lead on The Bachelorette DeAnna Pappas Stagliano is not about to let fans take down friend and fellow Bachelorette Clare Crawley.
DeAnna recently spoke on The Domenick Nati Show and revealed what we all knew to be true: what we saw on screen was not the whole story. She said,
“You know what, on a television show you don’t see that. Everybody just, like, gives Clare crap. Like, she just spent time with Dale, shame on her. It’s not at all how it was.”
She added,
“It’s a television show and I feel like, ultimately, people forget that. And it is edited. And what you saw was her being like, ‘Dale, Dale, Dale, Dale, Dale’ and sniffing his pants and calling it a day. There was so much more.”
One example she gave was the chat she had with Clare while filming. While the episode only showed the two talking about Dale, they actually talked about all of the guys she was interested in, according to DeAnna.
She explained,
“We sat there for two and a half hours and we talked about, you know, all the guys, all the dates. The connections she was having with a couple of the guys. Talked about the issue with Yosef and the way that he treated her and talked to her the night before. We talked about so much.”

On top of that, the decision to cancel the last group date wasn’t because Clare was already obsessed with Dale, it was because she didn’t want to put them through another dodgeball incident. DeAnna said,
“The day portion of our date — because it was going to be this game show thing talking about vaginas and whatever and where do babies come from — Clare was like ‘Listen, I just put them through this goofy date the other day and I really don’t want to do that to them again. It was a lot of fun and I think they had a lot of fun, but I’m not going to do this again and embarrass them. What I want to really want to do is be able to talk to these guys, get to know them, and have real and genuine conversations.'”
Clare has, unfortunately, been receiving a lot of hate from fans since the airing of the show. She has reportedly been really struggling from the backlash of seemingly “ignoring” the other guys and also for the dodgeball date during which the guys were expected to go nude.
But, according to reports, it wasn’t even Clare’s decision to leave the show early in the first place — she was pushed out by producers.
Luckily, she has Dale by her side and the two are happily still going strong. Now let’s see if Tayshia can find her man too!
