Luke P.’s family wants you to know that he’s actually a super great dude.
In an interview with Forsyth County News, Luke’s brother Mike Parker defended The Bachelorette contestant. He said,
“We don’t know the edit that they’re going to give him, but we know his character.”
He added,
“They’re going to over-dramatize. They’re going to make drama out of nothing and they’re going to mislead in their promos and make things look one way when it’s another. They’re trying to amp up the story.”

A Sunday school teacher from Luke’s church reinforced their confidence in Luke.
“One thing we do know is who Luke is and what Luke stands for. And no matter what way they spin it, it’s not going to change my view of Luke.”
According to his family, the way Luke’s acted on the show is not like him at all. When Hannah and Luke went on their hometown date, Hannah told his family some of the troubles they’ve had in their relationship so far. His dad said,
“To hear the stories and stuff that happened, I mean that’s not like my son.”
He added,
“I haven’t totally worked out in my mind to kind of visualize how this dynamic [between Luke and the other contestants] could have occurred.”

Luke P. has certainly been this season’s villain with nearly every other contestant turning against him.
On top of that, he’s said some pretty unsavory things to Hannah regarding her right to sexual freedom. Many fans have questioned how Luke even made it this far.
But as Hannah has previously explained, she and Luke had pretty immediate chemistry.
“He was the person that I had the first real, indescribable connection with.”
The Bachelorette airs Mondays on ABC.
