It’s taken a while, but we’re finally starting to feel comfortable talking about female pleasure and intimate health out in the open.

Once a taboo topic, women are now speaking up about orgasm equality and actually enjoying sex.

But even with this progress, there are still so many issues we’re afraid to talk about, even with our doctors. Things like incontinence and vaginal dryness are considered “embarrassing,” although they’re extremely common issues for women of all ages.

That’s where VSPOT comes in. The NYC-based medical spa offers a wide variety of FDA-approved treatments and non-invasive procedures to create the “ultimate haven” for women’s intimate health.

VSPOT Founder Cindy Barshop said,

“We focus on all the normal stages of a woman’s life: pre- and post- pregnancies, the natural aging process, menstruation, and menopause, offering the newest natural life-changing solutions.”

On top of offering treatments for women’s intimate health concerns, Cindy and the VSPOT team are determined to create a safe place where women can feel comfortable talking about their concerns — and a destination where they’ll actually be listened to.

Unfortunately, most women don’t have the best experience with their doctors and data shows that gender medical bias still persists. Women report being ignored, dismissed, and gaslit by their doctors, which is doubled for women of color, particularly Black women.

But VSPOT created an environment where women can feel taken care of. Cindy explained,

“[At VSPOT], women can openly discuss their most intimate concerns in a safe and welcoming environment with women providers who know how to solve their most important, yet very normal issues.”

It was actually Cindy’s own struggle to find help for her intimate health concerns that led her to create VSPOT in the first place.

She recalled,

“It started as a personal journey to find a non-invasive solution for my own embarrassing urinary leakage and vaginal dryness after giving birth to my twins. I researched endlessly to find a solution but kept coming up empty-handed or heading into surgical offices, where the complications heavily outweighed the solution.”

After months of research, she finally found a non-invasive treatment that was just reaching the U.S. It was then that she knew that she needed to help other women who were facing the same issues.

VSPOT’s services include treating concerns like vaginal dryness, painful sex, trouble with orgasming, incontinence, vaginal skin conditions, and more. And since so many of these issues are intertwined, many clients end up coming for more than just one treatment at a time.

Cindy said,

“These conditions are so common that most women often do multiple services.”

While many of these concerns are often associated with menopausal women, the truth is that women of all ages suffer from these conditions.

When talking about vaginal dryness, in particular, Cindy explained,

“It is very common for menstruating (and postpartum) women to experience vaginal dryness. Birth control, antidepressants, hormonal imbalances, vaginal infections, stress — basically anything that alters your hormones or PH balance — can all lead to vaginal dryness.”

She added,

“Vaginal dryness is a common result when estrogen levels naturally drop. However, normal estrogen fluctuations throughout a woman’s life can also often cause vaginal dryness (menstruation), creating the need for extra vaginal lubrication.”

Another concern VSPOT addresses is trouble orgasming, which is actually a lot more common than you think (particularly for heterosexual women!).

Cindy said,

“Difficulty orgasming is due to a myriad of reasons — physical and psychological. The physical starts with our simple anatomy but there are solutions and simple treatments that can be explored to enhance your intimate health and pleasure.”

She continued,

“We recommend that you just start making your orgasms a priority. Whether it is finding a sex toy, a serum, or a treatment, we find that just starting the process aids with the psychological impediments and then those solutions can address the physical issues”

And if the problem does turn out to be physical, that’s something they can help with.

“The O-Shot utilizes your own platelets (PRP) — a substance in your blood that contains healing proteins called growth factors — extracted from your own blood into your vaginal tissue, and painlessly injected into the clitoris and the Graf Enberg Spot, also known as the G-spot. The O-Shot stimulates cells, collagen, and blood vessels which aid in rejuvenating the vaginal region. This increases the response to stimulation.”

According to VSPOT’s website, the O-Shot not only increases your ability to have an orgasm but also decreases pain during intercourse, increases lubrication, decreases urinary incontinence, and more.

At the end of the day, Cindy and the VSPOT team are on a mission to make intimate health a priority.

“Your intimate health is important. It is important to orgasm, to feel confident when being intimate, to enjoy intercourse. Don’t suffer from painful sex or hyperpigmentation that drives you nuts. There are solutions and options for you to improve your intimate health, confidence, and overall satisfaction. “
