Sunday night Ariana Grande brought together the stars to raise money for the victims of the Manchester bombing at her concert. But one celeb was noticeably absent — Usher.
Usher had promoted the concert a ton on social, giving the impression that he would make an appearance, but then ended up missing the show. He later took to Instagram to explain why,
“So happy to see that last night’s concert in Manchester proved that love always prevails. I would have loved to be there but it was my son’s first day at Camp Kudzu, one of the few summer camps for kids living with diabetes. This was an important day for him and for myself as a proud father. Stay strong UK.”
So sweet! I mean, that’s a pretty good reason for missing the concert. And we’re glad Usher was able to be there for his son.
Demi Lovato was also questioned for missing the concert to which she replied that she actually “wasn’t asked” to participate.
Singers who did take the stage included Niall Horan, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, and Little Mix. You can watch all of their performances here.
The British Red Cross confirmed that more than $12 million has been raised since the bombing.
So proud of Ariana and everyone else for stepping up in this situation.
