‘Vanderpump Rules’ Scheana Shay Opens Up About Her Struggle with Anorexia

Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Shay is finally ready to come forward about her struggle with eating disorders.

She was prompted after her castmate Stassi called her “anorexic” a few seasons ago, which obviously brought up a lot of emotions for Shay. She ended up confronting Stassi during the reunion and admitting that she did, in fact, have anorexia when she was younger.

She later appeared on the podcast The Daily Dish, where she really got into it about her struggle.

“I was 20 years old. I was going to be moving out to Hollywood. I wanted to be an actress. Thin was in 11 years ago. Kim Kardashian was not a thing. It wasn’t cool to have a big butt. For me, I was like, ‘I don’t want to work out, so the only way I know how to get skinny is to stop eating.’”

She added,

“I remember stepping on the scale the day of my college graduation, and I was like 102. I was like, ‘Yes, I’m almost under 100.’ I was proud of myself.”

Stassi wasn’t the only one to criticize Scheana. Jax Taylor also commented on the SURver’s weight, saying that her butt looked almost non-existent compared to the past.

Scheana Shay insists that her recent weight loss is due to healthy habits and exercise and she no longer deals with the disease.

Shay has been going through a lot and recently went through a divorce from her husband of two years, Mike Shay. She is currently dating soap opera actor Robert Valletta and the two recently made it Instagram-official and he even started appearing on the show this season.
