Vanessa Hudgens might have moved on to more mature roles, but High School Musical will forever hold a place in her heart.
Last year Disney made the announcement that there would be a new TV film centered around a new class of East High Wildcats. But now it turns out that an original Wildcat might just make an appearance.
Hudgens chatted with E! News about what kind of role she could have in the film.
“I mean, I’m 28, I could be a teacher, but I refuse to be a teacher! I’m still a teenager at heart… I’m excited to see what they whip together.”
Since leaving HSM, Hudgens has had quite the fantastic film career. She’s appeared in Spring Breakers, Gimme Shelter, Grease Live! and more. She also stars in a new NBC show, Powerless, which premiered in February.
The HSM franchise has continued to have quite the following and fans were thrilled last year when most of the cast came together to celebrate its 10 year anniversary. The growing fan base continues to shock Hudgens, but she gets the power in what they created.
“It’s insane to me that kids are still watching High School Musical, I mean it’s amazing. I think it just shows the power of a musical. They’re timeless.”
Fingers crossed we see Hudgens back on set and that she’ll bring ex-boyfriend Zac Efron along for the ride.
